Time to reset or upgrade your HR?

Nickie Elenor, blog

How is it a quarter of the way through the year already?! Do you remember when you thought of all those new initiatives at the start of the year and created an exciting plan?  Have you completed any of them? I’ve implemented some of mine but not as many as I had hoped by now.

So, this week I have taken stock of where we are at, revisited the plan that I made at the start of the year and upgraded it with a better version – no need to reset this time.  I’m not going to wait until the new financial year or calendar year to get my act together.  I’m doing it now!

All too often, HR matters go to the bottom of the ‘To Do’ list unless they are causing you immediate pain.  I get that but if people are the life blood of your business, think how much easier things will run if:

·             Your employment documents are up to date and clearly set out your rules, boundaries and expectations;

·             You’ve dealt with the underperformer and you have KPIs and a performance improvement plan in place;

·             You’ve let your team know that you’ve noticed the increase in absenteeism and you’re managing it;

·             You’ve trained your line managers on how to manage their teams better.

What’s on your plan of action that you haven’t sorted out yet?  If it’s HR, get in touch to find out how we can help knock some of those objectives off the list.
